Convenience for Basel airport, excellent staff, excellent breakfast available, reasonable food and wine in the evening, remarkably quiet rooms considering the closeness to the airport.
great shuttle service from the basel airport to the hotel and back
It took over 40 minutes for the free shuttle to arrive. I am a female traveller and I had to wait in the -4 degrees celsius weather, on my own outside a deserted airport at 10pm - not good. I asked staff to book me a taxi for the next morning and it never turned up. The rooms were cold, breakfast was incredibly pricey for what you got and the bed had blankets instead of a duvet - this is the 21st century for goodness sake!
nice staff, clean and nice room, good breakfastm starts at 4,00am - very flexible for travellers.
Free parking and shuttle service to/from airport, offering much better deal than official airport car park especially for trips over a week with an early departure.
The hotel shuttle was quick to pick me up at airport with an English speaker. Hotel was a good value for the money particularly since the shuttle is free if you just need a place to stay for one night. Bed comfortable but more blankets are needed in cold months.
The web site does not state that they are located in France. When I received confirmation I immediately had to cancel my reservation thinking that I had book the wrong Captain Hotel. Then I had to call Booked.net and they explained and re-instated it. The tv emitted a bright blue light that wouldn't shut off and became very bright as it got darker. Room was very cold upon arrival and took too long to heat up. Dark halls until you find light switches.
Very convenient for its location (5 min drive to the Euroairport) and free airport shuttle. Furthermore, it's clean, friendly and comfortable - very good value for money.
The convenience to the euroairport and the free shuttle service. The food was of good quality and reasonably priced. The rooms were clean and of comfortable size. Nice helpful English speaking reception staff. I would always use this hotel for my overnight stay and have used it once before.
The rooms are basic but clean and the beds are comfortable. The room is quiet and not much sound leaks from room to room. It is a good cost effective hotel for the airport and Basel and I have always had a good night's sleep there.
The food has chanegd since the last 12 months in that you are served minscule portions on a freezing cold roof tile for a lot of money! I would stay again but not eat in the restaurant which is a shame as 12 months ago this was a highlight of the hotel where the food had bigger portions and was better prepared - also served on a plate.
We booked this hotel as a stay-over on our way to Italy. This is a great place to rest and take off again. We arrived around midnight and the staff was friendly and helpful to get us to our bed as soon as possible. Good beds, good shower. Breakfast was excellent. Close to the airport, but we did not hear any airplanes whatsoever.
This is my second time for this hotel. Hotel has room facilites that considerred value for money. Iron, internet, coffee maker , parking space and air condition. Hotel restaurant is also good.
The hotel restaurant provided excellent food. Rooms were clean.
The night we stayed the weather was extremely hot-but the air conditioning didn't work properly. We resorted to wrapping ourselves in wet towels to try and get some sleep! The hotel price seemed excessive
The location is very convenient if you're just getting into Basel -- it's right next to the airport. The breakfast was also not bad, although at about 9 euros, it was steep.
To start, they refused delivery on an important package I had shipped to the hotel despite my calling and informing them it was coming. (The man I spoke with on the phone told me it was no problem and gave me the impression that he thought I was over-thinking things.) This level of indifference became the leitmotif of our stay there. We were left at the airport for an hour after we called for a shuttle; this seemed egregious, given that it's a five minute drive. The shower in our room was broken. The hallways on the third floor smelled like baby feces. The people at the desk, with the exception of one guy, were surly and unhelpful. A very unpleasant place, indeed.
Friendly staff, very convenient for airport.
